Przekładaniec is a reviewed academic journal devoted to literary translation matters. It features poetry and short prose translation to and from Polish along with critical commentary, both by the translators themselves (workshop format) and by translation critics, as well as essays on translation theory, literary translation analyses, comparative literary studies and reviews of books in translation studies. Apart from presenting analyses of existing translations, the journal publishes new translations, both of the authors belonging to a well established canon and of those contemporary writers and poets who are little known in Poland. It is the editors aim to offer a multilingual and multicultural forum that promotes interdisciplinary discussion on literary translation understood as communication among different cultures. Hence the journal variety of languages, topics and methodologies. Also, the editors have always been working towards promoting Polish literature abroad. The journal will attract translators and translation scholars, philologists, literary critics, as well as non-specialist readers interested in translation and intercultural transfer.
