CERN is the world's largest particle physics research facility and its current scientific programme aims at piercing the secrets of the creation of the Universe. You can be a part of all this by joining the Translation, Minutes and Council Support group in the Director-General's unit, where you will translate from French to English a wide variety of documents, ranging from public outreach material and non-specialist articles for in-house publications and the CERN website to technical specifications, legal contracts, safety procedures and staff rules and regulations. The department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Translation and Interpreting from 1st September 2017 to 31 August 2018. The appointed candidate will be responsible for delivering a theory module on the Principles of Translation and Interpreting and also contribute to the teaching of Technologies of Translation. The core teaching will be at the postgraduate level to a mixed group of students pursing MA studies in TI in different modern language strands.
