Chonglong Gu is currently a final-year PhD researcher in Interpreting Studies at the Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies, University of Manchester. Drawing on corpus-based CDA, he is focusing on government-affiliated interpreters' agency and ideological mediation in their institutional alignment and (re)construction of China's discourse and image at China's political press conferences. Chonglong has an MA in Conference Interpreting and Translation Studies from the University of Leeds. He has some experience teaching translation and interpreting (Chinese-English) in his native China and the UK.
