The salary range for Lecturer is A$90,126 - $106,246 and Senior Lecturer is A$109,466 - A$125,588 per year depending on qualifications and experience (plus up to 17% employer superannuation, plus leave loading).
UNSW is one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities, with a commitment to new and creative approaches to education and research. The School of Humanities and Languages, in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, teaches undergraduate, honours and postgraduate programs in European and Asian languages and Area studies, and Linguistics/Applied Linguistics. The School runs postgraduate NAATI-approved programs in Translation and Interpreting. It offers the programs in a number of languages including Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Russian and Spanish, with the Chinese stream having the largest student enrolment.
The School seeks an enthusiastic, research-active academic with established expertise in the field of Translation Studies to make a significant contribution to teaching and coordination of this vibrant program, to assist with the further development of the curriculum, and to enhance the School’s research performance in the field of Linguistics.
This full-time, tenure-track appointment will be for three years in the first instance, with the opportunity of conversion to continuing status as per the UNSW (Academic Staff) Enterprise Agreement 2011. The position is available from January 2014. Level of appointment will be determined on the basis of previous experience and qualifications.
