Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Spanish

The Department of Latin American and Iberian Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Spanish to start September 1, 2013. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to implement, with other faculty, undergraduate curricular tracks in “Translation Studies” and “Language, Culture and Society,” and must be prepared to teach courses such as: Language Arts: How Spanish Works; Problems of Syntax in Spanish and English; Translation and Interpretation; Varieties of Spanish in the Americas; Language and Power in Latin America; History of the Spanish Language; and courses in UMass Boston’s General Education program.
