This workshop will centre on the practice of translating for stage performance. Participants will work on a range of speeches and short scenes, provided in literal versions, producing performable translations that will be discussed and compared in terms of different traditions of performance, variations of emphasis, development of intertexts, etc.

The workshop will be led by Prof David Johnston (Queen’s University, Belfast) and Dr Sarah Maitland (University of Hull).
