NANTA is a non-verbal performance of reckless rhythms that dramatize typical Korean percussion. Based on the Korean word nanta, which literally means ‘reckless punching’ as in a slugfest at a boxing match, Nanta performance has been immensely popular in Korea. The show takes place in a huge kitchen where four capricious cooks are preparing a wedding banquet. The musical instruments here are not conventional; rather, rhythm is created by the tools used in a kitchen, like a chopping board, a knife, and chopsticks. As a strikingly comedic stage show, Nanta integrates uniquely Korean traditional tempos with a western performance style.

Hwaseong Fortress: Located in Suwon City, Gyeonggi-do Province, the fortress represents the latest features of fortification in Korea. The construction was planned by the 22nd King of the Joseon Dynasty, Jeongjo, when he moved his father's tomb from the Yangju area to Mt. Paldalsan in Suwon County in 1789. The fortress construction was started along Mt. On August 29, 1910 the last king of Joseon, "Sun-jong" was forced to sign an unfair treaty with Japan in this palace. The palace grounds cover over 110 acres and the buildings have been burned and rebuilt several times throughout Korean history.
