Fellow Emeritus at Trinity College DUblin where I have taught Italian for over forty years, and still contribute to under- and postgraduate degree courses; my research is mainly Medieval and Renaissance, and I have written on Castiglione and Yeats, and Dante and Beckett; I have also published translations (in ottava rima) of Lorenzo de’ Medici and Poliziano.
