Expertise required: The School of Modern Languages at the University of Leicester is seeking a Professor of Translation Studies. Translation Studies is an emerging strength within the School, where undergraduate courses in Interpreting and Translation are well established across the different languages. It is expected that they will have expertise and experience in Translation Studies as a professional set of competencies. He/she will also be internationally recognised as having a research specialism in specific and developing areas of Translation Studies such as, but not exclusively, the politics of cultural transfer, transmedial adaptation, and translation in the context of globalisation and the expansion of new media. Current research within the School of Modern Languages focuses around cultural identity, particularly in relation to spatial paradigms, and visual/textual cultures.
