Lecturer in Language Technology and Translation
Professional Field: Academic
Expertise required: Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Language Technology and Translation. We are looking for a well-qualified and committed academic member of staff to join the expanding Modern Languages team at Roehampton. S/He will teach on and contribute to the curriculum development of the UG and PG programmes in Modern Languages in the area of Translation, in addition to having responsibility for the coordination of the Language Centre activities.
Qualifications sought:
The successful candidate will have academic and/or professional expertise in a wide range of translation tools including memory tools and machine translation, as well as terminology management, localisation and use of the Internet. Knowledge of language learning software is essential.
Competence in a foreign language is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of Spanish.
Applicants should have a higher degree, teaching experience in Higher Education and should be willing and able to join the existing team in research projects requiring translation technology expertise.
