Description: Following the success of Translation and Conflict, the international conference hosted by the University of Salford in November 2004, Translation and Conflict II aims to respond to increased interest in the important role played by translators and interpreters in situations of violent, armed conflict; in shaping perceptions of events and cultures in the run up to such conflict; and in dealing with its aftermath. The conference will consist of presentations by invited speakers, individual presentations in panels, and a series of workshops. The language of the conference is English.
